What’s the Attraction of an Older Guy?

These days, it’s quite acceptable for young women to date older men, commonly known as sugar daddies. What was once social taboo is now becoming more and more common . . . but why? What is it about these older men that draws the younger women?

While there are many different reasons that a young lady would be attracted to a sugar daddy, the most common is simply maturity. The majority of women discover very early in life that the opposite sex just doesn’t mature at the same rate. When a woman is twenty or so, she may want a serious relationship, but the men her age are just out for a good time. Hence the attraction to an older man.

In general, older men tend to be more stable. They have already sown their wild oats and are ready to be serious about one girl, something that really appeals to many women. This doesn’t mean that these relationships will necessarily turn into marriage, it simply means that the couple can enjoy each other’s company on a more mature level, hold interesting conversations and the young woman can feel safe and secure.

Besides the maturity factor, there is the question of experience. Not just sexual experience, though that certainly figures into the equation, but life experience. Older men have done far more than the guys that are the same age as their sugar babes. A woman can really have a conversation with a man who has lived an extra decade or two and for many women, good conversation is a real turn on. Being able to learn from her sugar daddy is something that many younger women enjoy.

An older man is usually freer than a younger one, as well. He may have already retired, or may run his own business, giving him flexible hours. Having the time to spend with his girl makes an older man very appealing, not to mention, he is often financially free as well and able to show her a great deal. Travel and glimpses of a higher level of living are not uncommon in sugar daddy relationships. Finding someone who can provide for her is definitely attractive to a young woman!

As you can see, there are a variety of reasons that younger women prefer older men and even seek them out. Often spurred by the immaturity of their own generation, women are taking the initiative to find sugar daddies and more mature, stable men who just happen to be quite a bit older. Dating someone older allows them to remove themselves from the mixed up dating scene of their own age group and enjoy a higher class relationship and a higher level of living in general.

Young women have always dated older men, but now it is no longer frowned upon as it was in the past. This has freed more women to seek out older men and find their very own sugar daddy to provide the mature relationship they prefer.

The big advantage of online dating is that you can literally find your soul mate anywhere in the world. However, there are often cultural differences that can make things awkward when you first meet someone from another country, particularly if it is one that you have never visited and is very different from your own.

Probably the best advice given on inter-cultural dating is to be open with each other. It’s important to realize that what may seem like an insult to you may be perfectly acceptable in your date’s culture. For example, in Latin America, people frequently tell girls that they are getting fat, but this is actually not a bad thing, it’s a sign of health and prosperity! You may not be aware of little differences like this, so when you feel that your partner is trying to offend you, make sure you talk to them about the supposed insult.

It can also help to study up a bit on the other person’s culture. Ask them questions about their country, such as what sports, foods, etc. are enjoyed there. Use the internet to find out more information and if at all possible, talk to people who have already traveled to the country, since they can often give you special insights that only a foreigner would have. There are plenty of websites that deal with traveling to any country you can think of, so take some initiative and do some research. You’ll not only have a better understanding of your date, but you’ll impress them with the fact that you took the time to learn about their culture.

For the majority of couples with different cultural backgrounds, the differences serve to add spice to the relationship. There’s always something unexpected and you are constantly learning from the other person. It can be a fascinating journey, particularly if separate languages are involved!

There are plenty of countries where English is only learned as a foreign language, meaning there may be a slight language barrier in the relationship as well. Chatting online with your potential date will let you know quickly how well he or she speaks English, though most people can write it a little better than they speak. If you are interested, learn a few phrases from your date’s language. Something simple like “How are you?” can be a nice gesture and lets them know that you are willing to make the relationship work.

Dating someone from another country can be a very interesting process. You’re bound to learn something as you go and even if the relationship doesn’t pan out, it will be an exciting way to learn more about the world. Just keep in mind that things are different, even when you are talking about countries as similar as Canada and England, so don’t let the little things bother you.
